Port Arrival: Inspection & Customs Clearance Steps for Imported Goods
When imported goods reach the port, items listed in the mandatory inspection catalog must first file an inspection application with the commodity inspection authority. The port-based inspection agency reviews the request, assigns a registration number, and stamps the Import Cargo Declaration Form with "Inspection Application Accepted." Next, the importer proceeds to submit import customs declarations. Customs will verify and release the goods (permitting unloading) using the "Inspection Application Accepted" stamp from the national commodity inspection body.
To apply for inspection, the Import Cargo Inspection Declaration Form must be completed in a standardized manner, along with supporting documents like the contract, invoice, packing list, bill of lading, recordal number, import license, and inspection declaration power of attorney. The commodity inspection authority will only accept the application after verifying these documents. Guangzhou Suixin Logistics offers customs declaration and inspection agency services, boasting deep expertise in inspection and customs processes and flexible solutions to challenges arising during commodity inspection.
-
Direct-access Enterprises: Complete the Application Form for Declaration Modification, affix the official seal or special inspection declaration seal (clearly state the reason for modification: applicant, contact number, product name and quantity, original certificate number, content to be modified, and reason for the change), then submit it to the agency inspection declaration window in the agency inspection hall;
-
Non-Direct-access Enterprises: Fill out the Application Form for Declaration Modification, affix the official seal or special inspection declaration seal, obtain the signature of the inspection department, and submit the form along with relevant materials to the agency inspection declaration window in the agency hall. (A handling fee applies for certificate modifications.)
When completing the electronic inspection declaration form, all other details remain the same, but the "Product Name" for the declaration must be "wooden cases." Additionally, select supporting documents such as the contract, invoice, packing list, and wooden packaging fumigation certificate in the "Attached Documents" section. After verifying the documents, the commodity inspection authority will issue a customs clearance form, allowing the importer to proceed with customs declaration.
